Description
The idea behind Kyoto Digital Hook came out from a trip to Kyoto, Japan a few years back. While visiting different artisan workshops I discovered Tan-kin, an old Japanese metalwork technique for hammering out metal. Kyoto Digital is my modest interpretation and homage to this millennial meticulous process of craftsmanship.
It was origainlly produced in solid wood under the name of Kyoto but my endless curiosity led me to evolve and re-design it as while exploring the possibilities offered by different digital manufacturing techniques I discovered a new way to go.
Kyoto Digital is the 3D printed synthesis of the original concept of this wall hook, turning it into a stronger, lighter (only 22 grams) and more efficient piece. Consuming less material and avoiding the use of unnecessary extra materials nor glues.
100% produced in PLA and available in five colors.
