Challenging social rules and traditions, this project is a self reflection about sharing, human possessions and social boundaries. Trying to make the impossible, possible. The final piece is fruit of hours of workshop and material exploration in which all market constraints were deliberately removed. A very intuitive hands-on process, playing with soft materials such as fabrics and leather in contrast with the hard steel knife blade.
The purpose of this initiative is to raise funds for FundacioĢ El Llindar through the sale of the knives. #fundacioĢelllindar is a local organisation supporting disenfranchised young people by developing their skills for work within the hospitality industry and through @elrepartidor_escolarestaurant
1+1=1 and the other 27 unique knives are available for purchase from 17th of November 2020 through The Table Knife Project website.
