The idea behind these wooden coat hangers came out from a trip to Kyoto a few years back. In that moment I discovered Tankin, an old Japanese metalwork technique for hammering out metal. Kyoto is my modest interpretation and homage to this millennial meticulous process of craftsmanship. The surface texture of the Kyoto hooks was created by the use of a pressing technique. This allowed us to achieve the desired texture and an efficient production time.
